With this above being said: ANY office can stop any person at any time and interrogate them without reasonable cause. Now, I am not saying it is “right” or it is legal to behave in this manner, but the fact is if an officer is going to do it, he/she is going to do it.
Asking someone for their immigration papers when you already have them detained for another crime is NOT interrogating them without reasonable cause, rather it is called asking them to produce the paperwork that they are suppose to produce by the forms they signed to come into this country legally!
The only people whom have to fear from an officer asking for the immigration documents are those here illegally; and Democrats whom may lose out on their votes!

The simple answer is: Yes. If you look at the way that legal immigration is conducted around the world, it is always based on a set of checks and balances. One of those checks is the prevention of certain communicable diseases.
Legal immigrants are tested for these diseases, but illegal immigrants are exempt from being tested. Remember swine flu? They are also exempt from:
paying income taxes
paying property taxes
paying school taxes
paying for their food stamps
paying their hospital bills
paying for learning English
having drivers licenses
having car insurance
and paying for their children that they cannot support.
As long as our welfare system pays better than full time employment in Mexico, they will keep coming. I had a 21 year old Mexican woman, who spoke no English, come to my store to fax her application for food stamps and Medicaid. Her only income was the $912 dollars a month she received from social security. At age 21, with 3 kids, do you think she ever paid a dime into Social Security??? I made a copy of her benefits statement from social security so that she could fax it to Health and Human Services. The Fox News Channel’s handling of the Shirley Sherrod controversy “was absolutely racist,” former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean charged on Sunday.
Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Dean, who’s also a former Democratic national chairman and hero of liberals, asserted Fox News failed to vet video footage of a speech misleadingly excerpted to make it appear that Sherrod was boasting of using her post as an Agriculture Department official to discriminate against a white farmer.
“I don’t think Newt Gingrich is a racist, and I don’t think you’re a racist,” Dean told Fox News host Chris Wallace, “but Fox News did something that was absolutely racist. They took a – they had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip. They had been pushing a theme of black racism with this phony Black Panther crap and this business and this Sotomayor and all this other stuff.”
Using Dean’s “logic”, the Obama administration was racist for firing Sherrod without due process or even giving her a chance to provide her side of the story. And the NAACP was racist for putting out its condemnatory statement without bothering to review ITS OWN TAPE of her entire speech. The saddest part of this repulsive political strategy by Dean and his pals is that it trivializes racism – which remains a serious problem in our (and just about every other) society. Because of people like Dean, calling someone a racist these days has about as much impact as calling that person a poo-poo head.
Yee.Haaa…How I do love Dean…he is the “second” gift that keeps giving after Bite Me. I will not defend Breitbart on this…however, clearly Wallace needed to have a time line to show Boy Dean how this unfolded. If he is going to defend the administration, then he must also defend their demand for firing Sherrod. Additionally, with the NAACP having the ENTIRE tape to begin with…why did they call for her resignation FIRST…Hatchet job…seems like a hatchet job on Fox, TPM and whoever else they can find.

I grow weary, with each passing day of the media elite within this country. The medias whole purpose is to inform and investigate to ensure that American’s are well informed. There appears, however to be this blatant bastardaization by those on the “far” left to hide, manipulate and/or destroy with their double standards and hypocrisy, especially when it comes to claiming and labeling racism.
Case in point: Breitbart was given a video of an NAACP speech given by a USDA government employee, Shirley Sherrod. Now, only part of the UNEDITED speech she gave was provided. The part of the speech that was provided was NOT edited.
Short version: Sherrod talks about how she had the power to basically stick it to a white famer, but after two weeks she realized that it was not about black and white rather it was about the “haves and have not’s”.
During this video, you can hear the NAACP members in attendance agreeing, amending and clapping about her denying a white farmer her full attention and how she wanted to send him to his own people because all she could think about was the black farmers losing their land.
Did she finally assist the white farmer to her full capacity, she and the farmer say she did. Does this negate the fact that she originally used her “power” to discriminate against a famer simply because of the color of his skin? No, it does not.
Sherrod still behaved in a racist manner, there is no other way to view this.
In fairness I viewed the entire 43 minutes of the tape and what was more disturbing than the NAACP members laughing and clapping at her racist behavior and power was that of the first 20+ minutes of her speech.
These first 20 minutes of her speech, a speech mind you that was intended to promote the USDA within the community paid for with tax payers dollars, was the fact that she talked about how bad the white man was during slavery, during the 1950’s and 60’s. Why?
What purpose did that 20+ minute speech serve other than to rile up the black members of the NAACP and increase the already larger racial divide?
Now, imgaine this person is a white man doing and behaving in the manner towards a black man. We would not be having these discussions because the white man would have been fired in a heart beat!!!!!!
My son came home from school this past May (2010) and told me that a couple kids at the bus stop kept calling him a cracker and a honkey. He then told me that it was not fair because if he called them the “N” he would be in a lot of trouble. That there told me that the two boys were black. I asked him what he did and he informed me that he told them to stop being racist and to just shut up. He then informed me that the two black boys told him that blacks can’t be racist and that if he did not shut up his white honkey ass they were going to beat it.
And this is the mentality that I unfortunately see more times than night, especially when I was a police officer-that is, blacks can be racist and almost inevitably no matter what whites do or say, that some how something racist can be derived from their words and/or actions.
While I patrol I ended up detaining a black man around 3:15pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Why? Because he was driving 90 miles an hour in a school zone. #1. Speed limit is typically 45 mph; #2. School zone speed limit is 20 mph; #3. driver did NOT have insurance; #4. Driver’s License was not on his person and he claimed it was from another state.
I ended up arresting the man. In court shortly thereafter and claimed that my detaining and arresting of him was because he was black. WOW, what a racist statement to say; I mean, if a black cop had been there instead of me he obviously could not have made this statement but because I am white he can? Again, WOW!
I testified and his attorney again made this claim. My reponse and I of course was being sarcastic:
`You are right sir, it had nothing to do with the fact that your client was operating a motor vehicle at a rate of 90 mph. `It had nothing to do with the fact that he was operating said vehicle at a speed in a school zone. ` You are right that it had nothing to do with the fact that this speed to which he was operating said vehicle should his vehicle had struck a child would have surely killed that child. `You are right that it had nothing to do with the fact that he had no insurance on his vehicle or the fact that he could no produce a valid drivers license.
The judge convicted the man of the failure to control speed, speeding in a school zone, driving without insurance and no valid drivers license. The man was also arrested for driving with a suspended license from another state.
He went directly to jail for 72 hours (mandatory for driving with a suspended license).
Comments alleging a white man going after a black man: and this is not a racist statement? Lord have mercy on her soul!

Last week the NAACP chapters met and produced a resolution labeling Tea Pearty groups racist. Albeit Mrs Sherrod’s comments this past March were her reflections of what she believed and how she behave 20 years ago, does this absolve her of her racist behavior/mentality?
If this were a white man behaving in the same manner, speaking to a “white group” that is designed to solely support and promote the white community, would there be any question as to a deman for his resignation?
Let me refresh everyone’s memory: Trent Lott was ridiculed, racked over the coals with howls for his resignation from t he Democratic Black Caucus members to name a few. Why? Trent Lott was simply making a nice gesture to a 100-year-old man at his 100th birthday party.
Speaking Thursday at a 100th birthday party and retirement celebration for Sen. Thurmond (R-S.C.) in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Lott said, “I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either.”
Now, Lott didn’t say he refused to help black people or that he took black people to his “own people” to help him because the black man was acting “superior to him”, no he was simply stating that he believed Thurmond would have been a better President than those who were elected instead.
But I digress- Double Standards and Hypocrisy, Double Standards and Hypocrisy!
The video clip from the NAACP meeting leaked a few days ago shows a black woman, Shirley Sherrod who “was” employed with the USDA until this video leaked. She was speaking to an NAACP crowd just this year (2010) about how she did little to help a “white farmer” and how she sent him to his “own people” a “white attorney” to help him because she needed to “help the black farmers” losing “their land”.
In fairness, when you listen to her speech in its entirety she was speaking about how she believed/behaved 24-years-ago with respect to the plight of black farmers and then eventually with respect to the “have and the have-nots”.
The issue? This does not absolve her of her racist stance anymore than it does of any white person who would have spoken and/or behaved in the same manner.
The bigger issue? The blatant double standards and hypocrisy of todays society when it comes to how is “allowed” to behave in a racist manner and who is not-whether it is of today or decades ago.
Odd? Sure-does this occur, absolutely! Why? Because society has allowed this to manifest into a bliss of ignorance that some how those of today must pay for the past indescretions of others and in the process allow those who suffered nothing from the past perpetuate their hate and greed onto those of today.
Shirley Sherrod of the USDA’s Georgia Rural Development office spoke to the NAACP in March 2010, telling them how she had withheld assistance to a farmer because he was white:
The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm. He took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing. But he had to come to me for help. What he didn’t know, while he was talking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me, was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him. I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farm land, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land.
So I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough so that when he, I assumed the Department of Agriculture had sent him to me, either that or the Georgia Department of Agriculture. And, uh, he needed to go back and report that I did try to help him. So I took him to a white lawyer….so I figured that if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him.
The arguement then becomes, well she said and behaved in this manner 24-years-ago; and my reply, so what if this was a white man? There would be ZERO requests for the white man to resign, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Sheila Jackson Lee and their rest of the ilk would be requesting some heads to roll for this behavior out of a white man.
Why?
Case in point: This past May (2010) my son came home from school and informed me that two black boys were harrassing him at the bus stop. He had stated that they kept calling him a cracker and when he finally had enough, he told them that they needed to stop being racist. What followed is truly outstanding:
The two blacks boys proceeded to inform my son that black people cannot be racist and that if he did not shut his honkey a$$ up, they would kick his a$$.
Seeing as these boys are 11 & 12 years of age, one can only speculate that the boys learned this behavior and idealological ignorance from their hatefilled parents.
On other blogs this morning I came across responses like such:

400 years of understanding why the NAACP is racist coupled with hundreds of years of white racism? Are you kidding me? Let me refresh your memory on slavery, or the fact that tens-of-thousands of blacks participated in the murdering and enslaving of Native American Indians…..I would really hate for anyone to actually research history. The kicker to all of this hypocrisy is that of the real black Africans STILL TO THIS DAY enslaving their own people…..
Thomas Sowell: The history of slavery across the centuries and in many countries around the world is a painful history to read — not only in terms of how slaves have been treated, but because of what that says about the whole human species — because slaves and enslavers alike have been of every race, religion, and nationality.
If the history of slavery ought to teach us anything, it is that human beings cannot be trusted with unbridled power over other human beings — no matter what color or creed any of them are. The history of ancient despotism and modern totalitarianism practically shouts that same message from the blood-stained pages of history.
But that is not the message that is being taught in our schools and colleges, or dramatized on television and in the movies. The message that is pounded home again and again is that white people enslaved black people.
Just as Europeans enslaved Africans, North Africans enslaved Europeans — more Europeans than there were Africans enslaved in the United States or in the 13 colonies from which the nation was formed.
The treatment of white galley slaves was even worse than the treatment of black slaves who picked cotton. But there are no movies or television dramas about it comparable to Roots, and our schools and colleges don’t pound it into the heads of students.
The inhumanity of human beings toward other human beings is not a new story, much less a local story. There is no need to hide it, because there are lessons we can learn from it. But there is also no need to distort it, so that sins of the whole human species around the world are presented as special defects of “our society” or the sins of a particular race.
If American society and Western civilization are different from other societies and civilizations, it is in that they eventually turned against slavery, and stamped it out, at a time when non-Western societies around the world were still maintaining slavery and resisting Western pressures to end slavery — including, in some cases, by armed resistance.
Only the fact that the West had more firepower put an end to slavery in many non-Western societies during the age of Western imperialism. Yet today there are Americans who have gone to Africa to apologize for slavery — on a continent where slavery has still not been completely ended, to this very moment.
It is not just the history of slavery that gets distorted beyond recognition by the selective filtering of facts. Those who mine history in order to find everything they can to undermine American society or Western civilization have very little interest in the Bataan death march, the atrocities of the Ottoman Empire, or similar atrocities in other times and places.
Those who mine history for sins are not searching for truth but for opportunities to denigrate their own society, or for grievances that can be cashed in today at the expense of people who were not even born when the sins of the past were committed.
An ancient adage says: “Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.” But apparently it is not sufficient for many among our educators, the intelligentsia, or the media. They are busy poisoning the present by the way they present the past.
A sick patient lies in a hospital dying. The doctor sends a nurse into the room to open a window – ostensibly to afford the dying man some fresh air. Over night, the temperature drops below zero and the man freezes to death. The next morning the doctor comes in, looks at the frozen corpse and says, “Ahhhh, too bad – he was a sick man… Oh well, it was ‘his body’ after all!”
And the point is?
It was not the banks or the markets or the financial institutions that created the housing bubble that burst. The housing bubble was created by Congress to make home ownership more affordable for people who could not afford to own a home.
To do that, they enforced a lowering of the standards of traditional rules for lending, that had been in place for decades. And when you lower those kinds of rules, and when you lend money to people who cannot afford to make the payments they begin to default on those loans.
And when those people begin to default on loans – loans that were made because the government coerced the banks into making faulty loans by establishing quotas based on qualifications (like color, or gender or neighborhood), other than financial, and then penalizing those banks who failed to make the quotas the Fed set – then the market quickly gets flooded with houses for sale, for short-sale and houses in foreclosure.
When that many houses hit the market all at once, (coincidentally, just about the same time that most of those 5yr teaser rates ended), then the abundance of houses for sale, make prices fall dramatically. And those who were caught short having (in many cases) loaned more on the 1st mortgage than a house was eventually worth when it went into foreclosure; suddenly found out that robbing Peter to pay Paul, when Peter dies first, doesn’t work so well, when you’ve borrowed heavily from Paul! Even when Congress twisted your arm into doing it!
So who can you trust these days? The banks or Congress? Maybe neither. But one thing is for sure, this legislation is a complete sham!
When you can’t trust the government to work in your best interest, then it is in your best interest to support a government that “really” cares – and isn’t just for show. One that owns up to its mistakes and as FDR said, “Confront them frankly” and move forward with some reform that has a chance of making a real difference, and not some show that will put even more of a squeeze on the already shortened money supply! And speaking of FDR – if he’d understood that, we may not have ever had a “Great Depression” !!!
The government created this with regulations put in place for Fannie-Mae and Freddie-Mac and then forced those same rules on the banks too, forcing them to make loans they previously never would have made – in the name of “equality” in lending. Now that all sounds very nice and altruistic – but people are not equal when it comes to their ability to repay loans.
No matter how politically correct that sounds – because politics is very often very very wrong!
This Senate Bill does not include Fannie-Mae and Freddie-Mac reforms because;
1) They don’t want to blame this financial disaster on themselves – and conveniently, the public generally doesn’t understand the dynamics behind the crisis – so the banks and the financial institutions who have simply done what Congress bade them do, make a very easy target!
2) They probably want to try to do it again, – but this time limit the scope of who loses what and who gets to stand first in line for the bailout money, when the bubble bursts next time.
3) Home ownership for those who cannot (and in many cases will not) afford a home, is still the goal. The theory is that it makes better citizens, when people have a vested interest due to home ownership. And that may be true to a degree, but lowering the standards and subsidizing failure, is not a very ethical, practical or fiscally responsible way to increase home ownership!
Giving away housing to those who cannot afford it is a great way to get re-elected of course! But the people who ultimately have to pay for it are the worse off for their misplaced philanthropy!
The numbers for those who care:
The percentage increase in home ownership during the boom, went from 64% to 69%. Just 5pts. Five percent of out a population of 300-million is 15-million people. Guess how many jobs were lost in the crash?
That’s right! 15-million. So, 5% of the population lost their jobs, so another 5% could buy a home they couldn’t afford to keep.
Nobody got a home, and we’re all worse off for it! If Washington paid more attention to the numbers than to the window dressing – more of us would be looking out windows instead of looking in! Watch out America… Here we go again….
