Tea Party groups and those who oppose Big Nanny State Government have been highly demonized, scrutinized and denied EQUAL rights and protections under our laws; denied equal rights and bullied by the likes of not just the media, but big government agencies like the IRS.
Based on the way the IRS has treated these organizations, is there a reason why the NAACP is still afforded its tax exempt status? I mean, when they DAILY participate in HIGHLY POLITICAL protests/pickets, public statements and all together political organization events while receiving millions in donations and government grants, by the IRS’ own rules the NAACP should have their tax exempt status REVOKED!
In 2006 the NAACP was investigate by the IRS for their HIGHLY POLITICAL activities while claiming tax exempt status, yet the IRS ruled that they did not violate the tax exempt rules.
During that campaign [2000 Presidential campaign], the NAACP ran television spots featuring the daughter of James Byrd Jr., a black man who was dragged to death behind a pickup truck in Texas in 1998. She criticized Bush, then governor of Texas, for not signing hate-crime legislation.
The rift grew when the NAACP charged that Republicans in Florida stole the 2000 election by turning black voters away from the polls.
The NAACP is now engaging in even more HIGHLY POLITICAL BEHAVIOR by protesting, changing, yelling, blocking public access to the State buildings because the NAACP does not agree with the POLITICAL IDEOLOGIES of those the citizens of North Carolina ELECTED to office in 2010.
Therefore, this begs to question that if a HIGHLY LIBERAL group like the NAACP, who is extremely political is permitted to obtain and maintain a tax exempt status they why are Tea Party groups denied, harassed and demonized for requesting the same EQUAL ACCESS with they are no where near as political in nature as the NAACP is?
