So, I was in Barnes and Noble today using my current although hanging in the valance freedoms to choose what book I want to read and buy a $4.76 Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks at my LEISURE. I know, that is an expensice up of coffee, but evrey now-and-again I like to buy one because they sure are tasty ☺☺! Anyway, I came across Michelle Malkin’s book “Culture of Corruption: OBama and his team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies” that was just released on July 28, 2009 and thought I would pick it up, read a few pages and decide if I wanted to spend the $27+ TAX to read the book.
**BTW…it is Amazon.com’s #1 selling book ALREADY!
Notice how I put TAX in capital letters, becase although we are free to choose what we want to read, we are still none-the-less taxed on that freedom as though some legal plundering of my money makes it okay to steal from me and give it to those who would otherwise be prosecuted and jailed for doing the very same thing!
Needless to say I purchased the book as it appered to be very well written and placed the importance on the facts not biasness (is that a word….LOL). I am half way through the book already and had to put it down so that I would have something to read tonight!
I have so far found chapter two even more enlightening, although I must say NOT surprising given how angry and bitter Michelle Obama is or her previous $300,000 salary at a hospital in Chicago where she would dump the poor or homeless citizens either back out onto the streets or send them to other hospitals where their ailments would only progress.
Legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways; hence, there are an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, bonuses, subsidies, incentives, the progressive income tax, free education, the right to employment, the right to profit, the right to wages, the right to relief, the right to the tools of production, interest free credit, etc., etc. And it the aggregate of all these plans, in respect to what they have in common, legal plunder, that goes under the name of socialism. But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. ~Frederic Bastiat
