Yes, I said the Civil War. Why you ask? Because contrary to the current bastardization of our American history via the govenrment regulated schools, the first beef that lead to the Civil War was STATES RIGHTS!!! Slavery did not become the major issues until TWO YEARS into the Civil War, albeit a huge issue none-the-less!
The Southern States believed that the States Should Hold More Power than the Government-which of course is written in the Constitution. The government at the time wanted nothing to do with this.
The Northern States were no where near taxed like the Southern States were-somewhere around 80% is what the Southern States were taxed.
Yes, slavery existed and it was prominent in the South, but please note that Northerners owned slaves just like BLACKS owned slaves although obviously not to the extreme as whites.
Fast Foward to Today: The Government is trying to implement CRAP-Yes, I meant to say CRAP whereas to TAX the hell out of American’s to pay for their spending.
Several states have designed bills that they are placing on the 2010 ballots so as to OPT out of the Government CONTROLLED CRAP where they dictate to states what they must do while making the states pay for it and thereby taxing the CRAP out of us!!!!
Now, I am not implying that we are going to head into another Civil War, but it sure looks like we are heading into the principle of the same conflicts minus slavery-although, I suppose we could insert ILLEGAL ALIENS and the fighting over allowing them to have access to all of our “stuff” with little if NO putting into the pot (let me know if that does not make sense).
Amongst some conservatives and certainly a lot of libertarians there is tremendous concern over 300 million of us giving 40% of
what we make to 537 people of no better than average intelligence, some of them of ill intent, who won popularity contests to handle poorly.
The Federal Government is well outside its Constitutional bounds and we have a society where everybody, including corporations
“seeking rent” [economic term], are trying to live at the expense of everyone else.
Our current and future debt obligations exceed the value of everything we own in America, everything we will make
(100% of EVERYBODY’s EARNINGS) for the next 8 to 10 years.
Everyone, including most conservatives are angry at Bush. Most feel Obama is continuing the same policies plus a
lot of stuff we can’t afford that is beyond the scope of the Federal government.
There is indeed a growing movement to get away and start over with the ideals and principles that made us great,
not the ones that are leading us to be overtaken by China.
We either wake up, or end up like the British empire of 1900, find that it is gone in a few short decades.
